Genetic Testing: Genetic testing looks for changes, sometimes
called mutations or variants, in your DNA. Genetic testing is useful in
many areas of medicine and can change the medical care you or your
family member receives. Genetic tests are done using a blood or spit
sample and results are usually ready in a few weeks.
Pharmacogenomics (PGx): Pharmacogenomics looks at how your
DNA affects the way you respond to drugs. In some cases. your DNA
can affect whether you have a bad reaction to a drug or whether a
drug helps you or has no effect.
Cancer Genomics Testing (CGx): Genomic testing is done on
cancerous tissue to provide information about how your cancer might
behave. Genomic testing is useful for helping cancer patients and their
doctors decide on a treatment.
